Health Walk - Thursday 11th May 2017

Photos by Michael & Lawrence - Please click on photos to see a larger one

Today we had twenty-five walkers.  Another gloriously sunny spring morning

James Mc was leading the main walk, Carmel was back marker.

Suzie was leading the short walk option, six today.

James explained the walk, he was going to show us Bluebells not featured on either of the Bluebell walks.

He led us off through the passage past Sue Ryder's cafe/former cafe and across the car park to James' Walk (see map) which now has a brilliant display of Bluebells replacing the earlier daffodils.

As we reached the Cycle Track again I got permission to leave the walk and walk along the river to meet them coming back; they walked past the Covert Pond and entered the wood to walk along the river.

It's quite tricky picking your way over the tree roots, under the fallen trees, boughs and keeping away from the edge of the bank

The interior of the new building is coming along fine, all the rooms appear to be studded out

From the Barn Suzie led the short option walkers along the path and into the Pinetum where they walked up to the viewing area and then down Cardiac hill, over the Wooden Bridge and up into Gravel Hole Wood.  From Dog Kennel Wood they walked the opposite way round the Lake to the main group, down the Long Steps, across the Picnic Area and over the Stone Bridge, up Snake Hill as far as the Kissing Gate where they turned to walk along the sunny side of the Hall back to the Barn.
