Twenty-two walkers this morning - half our normal Tuesday number, three opted for the short walk Margaret was leading the main walk with Michael S back marking. Suzi was leading the optional short walk group. Both leaders explained they would try to find a 'dry' route. Margaret led us into the Pinetum and down Cardiac Hill, over the Wooden Bridge
Margaret Led us up into Walkers Wood. Leaving Walkers Wood we walked through Cock Cabin Wood and round the Pond. Coming out of Cock Cabin Wood we descended Bikers Hill and crossed the Stone Bridge to skirt the Picnic Area and walk along the bottom of the Dam climbing up the Long Steps to the Lake. We walked round the west side of the Lake and entered Dog Kennel Wood, through Gravel Hole Wood on to the Cycle Track and over
As we entered the Pinetum Margaret took us up alongside the new building and then round the 'sunny' side of the Hall back to the Barn. The much depleted Elite group followed the main group to the Stone Bridge but carried on up Snake Hill. Once they had made the top they walked past Sue Ryder's cafe, along the Drive, Cuerden Close, hidden path through woods back to the Barn.
