Health Walk - Tuesday 24th July 2018

Today we only had forty walkers.  No dogs again.

It was a cloudy morning with Scotch mist/drizzle from time to time.

Carmel led the main walk with Irene S as back marker.   Suzi S led the short option walk with Colin C back marker.

Carmel introduced herself and Irene S and marched up the Car Park and entered the Pinetum.   Meanwhile Suzi had led the Elite walkers directly into the Pinetum and the main group caught up with them once they had crossed the Wooden Bridge, actually the Elite group were once again waiting for the main group to pass them.

Everyone climbed up into Gravel Hole Wood, passing through Dog Kennel Wood entering the Field, walking up the Hill and

dropping down to the Lake, here the main group are resting or have they seen something

The Lake was quiet except for the Mallards and Canada Geese.

We all walked round the Lake going down the Long Steps, walking round the Picnic Area and Crossing the Stone Bridge.

Here the Elite group walked directly up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre

The main group walked on up Bikers Hill through Walkers Wood, Cock Cabin Wood and on the Cycle Track to the Cinder Path

Yes!  The macs are coming off and the umbrellas being folded as we walked round Cuerden Hall back to the  Visitors Centre

Judging by the comments on Facebook again most people enjoyed the walk.
