Health Walk - Tuesday 14th August 2018

Today we had thirty-eight walkers and Paddy.

It was an overcast morning with occasional light rain.

Carmel led the main walk with Frankie back marker.   Jen K led the short option walk with Maggie back marker.

Carmel introduced herself and back marker Maggie.  She set off into the Pinetum and down Cardiac Hill, over the Wooden Bridge and up into Gravel Hole Wood, through Dog Kennel Wood.

As we were going through through the Kissing Gate into the Field we

saw the Elite group, they had come direct down Snake Hill, over the Stone Bridge, round the Picnic Area, up the Long Steps to the Reservoir.

Carmel took us down the steps through the other Kissing Gate where we passed the Elite group coming in the opposite direction

On the east side of the Reservoir another emergency throwline has appeared

We reversed the outward path of the Elite group to the Stone Bridge but after crossing the Bridge we climbed up to Walkers Wood then into Cock Cabin Wood, round the pond and along the Cycle Track to the Cinder Path

Leaving the Cinder Path we walked up the Drive round Cuerden Hall and back to the Visitors Centre

The Elite group, when they passed us, followed our outward route back to the Visitors Centre

As I arrived at the Visitors Centre before the walk I found
