Health Walk - Thursday 30th August 2018

Today we had twenty-four walkers.  It was an enjoyable morning, ideal for walking

James led the main walk with David H back marking.  

Colin led the Elite walk with Suzi back marking.

James led off down Snake Hill, over the Stone Bridge, across the Picnic Area, up the Long Steps, round the Reservoir, through the Kissing Gate, along Cam Lane to Hawks Clough, up past the Ponderosa, Down Sheep Hill into Sheep Hill Wood, out on the Sheep Hill Brow and across into the Park.

We left the Cycle Track to

and along the field to enter the wood by the Stepping Stones and along the river.

The waterboatmen were out in force darting here and there

The Himalayan Balsam has really taken over on the opposite bank

Negotiating the fallen trees, jumping over and ducking under them, avoiding the many tree roots

heading towards the Wooden Bridge and climbing up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre.

The Elite walkers entered the Pinetum and walked down Cardiac Hill, over the Wooden Bridge, up into Gravel Hole Wood, through into Dog Kennel Wood, round the Reservoir, down the Long Steps, round the Picnic Area, over the Stone Bridge and up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre.
