Photos by Michael S - Please click on photos to see a larger one Today we had thirty-eight walkers. It was a warm dry morning and the sun tried to shine Michael S led the main walk with John W back marker. Colin led the short option (Elite) walk with Margaret W, back marker. Michael was asked to create a walk with no steps which he agreed to do and he set off through the Car Park meaning to go down the Cinder Path but he realise that there are steps at both ends of the Cinder Path! After a few moments of confusion he decided to enter the Pinetum but cut down the first path off to the left. Carrying on down Cardiac Hill, crossing the Wooden Bridge and going up into Gravel Hole Wood, crossing the Women's Institute Bridge into Dog Kennel Wood. Leaving Dog Kennel Wood he led straight down the Slope avoiding the Reservoir and Crossing the Stone Bridge. Turning right and going up Bikers Hill into Walkers Wood. Leaving the Wood he entered Cock Cabin Wood walking anti-clockwise through the wood where we met the Elite group coming in the opposite direction At the bottom of Bikers Hill Michael started up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre. The Elite group followed the main group through the Car Park but continued past the Barn, rounding it and joining the Hall Drive walking to the Cinder Path. Leaving the Cinder Path they walked on into Cock Cabin Wood where they met the main group, passing them they walked down Bikers Hill, crossed the Stone Bridge, walked along the river, crossed the Wooden Bridge and walked up Cardiac Hill, into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre.
