Health Walk - Thursday 27th September 2018

Today we had thirty walkers - a good turnout

We had a lovely sunny morning

Carmel led the main walk with John W back marking.  

Suzi led the Elite walk with Margaret W back marking.

Carmel took us through the Car Park into the Pinetum passed the carved tree and down Cardiac Hill.

In the distance we saw the Elite walkers where had they come from?

You can just pick them out crossing the Wooden Bridge.  They had gone straight into the Pinetum from the Visitors Centre.

before following us into Gravel Hole Wood

At the top of the rise Carmel paused to allow us to catch our breathe

and once we had moved off the Elite group followed us having had their rest at the top of the hill

We all crossed the Women's Institute Bridge in to Dog Kennel Wood and down the slope towards the Stone Bridge

We saw David B leading a group of school children, some of which did pond dipping and some followed Clare along the Cycle Path.

We all walked up Bikers Hill but the Elite group entered Cock Cabin Wood whilst Carmel marched on over the motorway bridge.

Here the Elite group turned down and walked along the Cinder Path.

Carmel took us into the north side of the Park returning to go down the Cinder Path, the Elite group were enjoying their drinks and biscuits now in the Visitors Centre

We followed the path of the Elite group round the side of the Hall

I was fascinated by the cow in the field in the distance, apparently on its own

We carried on back to the back to the Visitors Centre.

Today's walks (Red Main Group, Blue short cuts and Green Short Walk Option Group).  
Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>.
