Today we had thirty-one walkers.
We had a lovely sunny morning for the walks.
James was the leader of the main walk with Michael S back marker.
Margaret W led the Elite group with Sheila T back marker. Margaret and Sheila were designing a walk for Saturday's BBC Countryfile Ramble for Children in Need

The main group set off down Snake Hill closely followed by the Elite Group

The Elite group turned up Bikers Hill and followed the Cycle Path over the M6, under the M65, anticlockwise round the north side and retracing their steps. As it was getting late they turned down the Cinder Path which they found was blocked by the cows who wouldn't respond to the walkers encouragement to move. Thwarted they returned to the Cycle Path and carried on retracing their steps back to the Visitors Centre, rather late, about twenty minutes after the main group but Margaret and Sheila were delighted that they had found a 'stepless' walk for Saturday.
The main group crossed the Stone Bridge, walked up the slope, round the east side of the Lake, up the steps on to Cam Lane
They walked to Hawks Clough and taking the path up the hill carried on along Cam Lane, passed the Ponderosa, crossed over Sheep Hill Lane and entered Glenmore Close and into Sheep Hill Wood.
Leaving Sheep Hill Wood they walker down Sheep Hill and entered the Park again at the bottom of the hill walking along the Queen Mother's Avenue of Oaks along the Cycle Path back to the Wooden Bridge which they crossed, walked up Cardiac Hill entering the Pinetum and climbing up to the Visitors Centre.
Today's walks (Red Main Group and Green Short Walk Option Group).
Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>.
