Photos by Michael S - Oh dear I deleted them by mistake! - Please click on photos to see a larger one Today we had forty-two walkers A rather nippy morning. Carmel led the main group with Sheila back marker. John B led the Elite group with Margaret W back marker. Carmel took us up through the Car Park to enter the Pinetum at the Tree Sculpture and then down Cardiac Hill where we came across the Elite walkers who had started down the side of the Visitors Centre and got ahead of us. And as they usually do they stood aside to let us past. We all followed Carmel over the Wooden Bridge up into Gravel Hole Wood, Dog Kennel Wood, through the Kissing gate into the Field and along Cam Lane. As we reached the top of the steps the Elite group, now out of sight eventually climbed down the steps to the Lake. Carmel carried on along Cam Lane to Hawks Clough and into Green Wood taking the path clockwise to emerge back on to Cam Lane after climbing the really long steps. The bridge at the bottom has been replanked and there are signs of repairs being done to the steps, not an easy task. We walked along Cam Lane past the Ponderosa on our way back to Hawks Clough, carrying on along Cam Lane to the Kissing Gate, down the slope, over the Stone Bridge and up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre. The Elite group walked round the Lake, down the Long Steps, along the Cycle Path, river, over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre
