Photos by Michael S - Please click on photos to see a larger one! Today we had thirty-one walkers. We had a lovely sunny morning for the walks. James was the leader of the main walk with Sheila T back marker and Michael mid marker/reserve leader. Colin C led the Elite group with John B back marker.
We all went down the side of the Visitors Centre in to the Pinetum, down Cardiac Hill, over the Wooden Bridge, right along the Cycle Path. The main group carried on along the Cycle Path heading south but the Elite group turned up into Gravel Hole Wood, Dog Kennel Wood, through the Kissing Gate up into the Field, down the steps to the Lake, round the Lake down the Long Steps, along the bottom of the Dam, back on to the Cycle Path walking south along the path/river to the Wooden Bridge and up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre
As we reached the top, across from the Ley Inn, Michael led a small group on a short cut into Sheep Hill Wood. James led the main group down towards Lower Wood End but turned off up Blackthorn Close into Wood End Road then up round the Duck Ponds. He found his way into Rowan Croft and back to and along Wood End Road to Back Lane. Descending Back until he followed Michael's little group into Sheep Hill Wood. At the top of the rise James dropped down to Sheep Hill Lane and reentered the Park and walked back along the Cycle Path, over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and up the central path back to the Visitors Centre. Michael carried on through Sheep Hill Wood into Glenmore, crossing Sheep Hill Lane into Cam Lane. Leaving Cam Lane into Cam Wood to the stile and into the Cow Field and descending to the lower stile into Gravel Hole Wood, Wooden Bridge, Cardiac Hill, into the Pinetum and up the central path back to the Visitors Centre
