Today we had forty-eight walkers for Carmel's walk with a longer extension
A lovely sunny autumn morning.
Carmel led the main group with Elizabeth M back marker and Michael on standby to lead the longer variation if necessary.
Colin C led the Elite group with John B back marker.
Carmel took us through the Car Park, down Berkeley Drive, round the side of the Barn

Between the Cinder Path and the Cycle Path Carmel paused to allow everyone to get through the Kissing Gate and Judy took the opportunity to take this photo, both the same one, I've fiddled with Photo 4
Carmel took us along the Cycle Path and into Cock Cabin Wood

These photos are 5 and 6 upside down.
Unbeknown to us the Elite walkers had started down Snake Hill, walked up Bikers Hill to enter Cock Cabin Wood ahead of us.
We followed there their trek round the wood but they went straight back down Bikers Hill and Carmel took us into Walkers Wood. We all crossed the Stone Bridge but Carmel's group walked round

the Picnic Area whereas Colin took the Elite walkers up the short steps on to the Lakeside and up into Dog Kennel Wood. We walked across the Dam and followed the path of the Elite walkers into Dog Kennel Wood through Gravel Hole Wood but at the stile into the Cow Field Carmel asked everyone if they'd like to do an extra 20 minute walk and if so follow Michael over the stile.
Carmel again followed the path of the Elite walkers although she wasn't conscious of this over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre whereas the elite walkers had gone further up the path and across the Pinetum to the Car Park before turning to the Visitors Centre.
Michael took the group of energetic walkers up to the top Stile

across the little footbridge climbing up again, round the top and back down to Hawks Clough joining Cam Lane and walking down to the Lake, down the Slope,
over the Stone Bridge and up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre
Today's walks (Red Main Group, Green Short Walk Option Group).
Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>. similarly for the blue arrows
