Photos taken from our bedroom window - early morning moon
Saturday 24th January

The first photo in the garden this year. I haven't felt like going out in the cold and it's not been all that nice plus we're still struggling with
medical problems. On the other hand there's no been anything to photograph!

There are strong signs of new life now. The jasmine was more or less over in December, it was earlier than last year.

The crocuses showed before the snowdrops. The blackbirds have nearly eaten the rich crop of berries on the variagated holly

We spotted a female Blackcap in the back garden. We've heard it singing for a few days but didn't know what it was.

Thursday 26th March - lots of birds

We have bird tables back and front, this one is in the back. On the first photo there is a Corn Bunting which has been a regular visitor this year (this is writen on 29th April) by the time I'd zoomed in it had gone - Chaffinch and Blackbird.

We also have three feeders, two in the back and one in the font. This is the sunflower kernels one in the back - photos aren't very good sorry. Goldfinches, we have lots of goldfinches. The regular visitors are Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Greenfinches, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Starlings, Blackcaps, a Wren, Blackbirds, Collared Doves, Ferral Pigeons, a Thrush, the occasional Sparrow and in spring Mallards.

The results of clearing the corner last Wednesday.

Moved some of the conifers around. The one just left of centre in this photo is slightly below level. It was originally in a pot in the square but with the boat laid up in the square it more or less had lost its place. Having decided this was the best place for it now, when I started to dig a hole for it I found a massive cavity below the surface, big enough for Sue to curl up in and deeper than our whole spade. Is it a sink hole? There was a lot of rotten wood so it could be the remains of the ash tree roots we cut down years ago, it is a bit frightening though?

First photo - Some hard work in October what seemed an impossible task resolved over several days. The rose bed and drive brought back to the standard of late July
Wednesday 11th November

Old age and a dull day so not very sharp but at least it's a record of our climbing rose in the front garden
